Antique has managed, as the first group ever, to be nominated in the category "Modern Dance" for a Swedish Grammy Award for their Greek (Swedish) pop music.

Antique is also the first group that has managed to reach top 5 on the Swedish Sales Chart with a Greek song! (At least as far as we know).

Their first single "Opa-Opa" was top 10 in the whole of Scandinavia this summer and one could hear the song everywhere. All of a sudden everybody knew about Antique! Second single "Dinata Dinata" has been top 10 for five weeks on the Swedish Sales Chart. Both singles have reached Gold status and "Opa-Opa" has also reached Platina.

Currently Antique is working on their second album that will be released later this year. On March 6th they will participate in the Greek Eurovision Song Contest with their song "I´ll Die For You". It´s written by two wellknown greek song writers, Antonios Tapas and Nikos Terzis.

Antique, a duo who carries the warm musical traditions of Greece on to a dance inspired Nordic beat.

Antique, who combine the Greek popular music with a Nordic dance-pop beat, contains of Elena and Nikos, two youngsters born in Sweden but with Greek parents. They both live in Gothenburg in the southwest part of Sweden.

Elena Paparizou, 19, combines her duties as an artist with her studies at a music and theatre gymnasium in Gothenburg. When there is time Elena works in her father's Greek restaurant. She loves to be with her big Greek family and her dog Liza. She plays the piano and loves to dance.

Nikos Panagiotidis, 23, has been playing the Bouzouki and singing for several years in a traditional Greek band. Also Nikos is working extra in a restaurant, both as a waiter and as an entertainer with his band. Nikos and Elena try to visit Greece and their family there as often as possible. Nikos usually goes to Thessaloniki and Elena goes to Volos and then she travels around in Greece by car

The producer team and the dancemusic creators, C&N Project, were earlier season working DJ´s in the Greek Islands. Wild disco nights at Rhodes and Kos have created curiosity about the Greek culture and an interest of creating the unique Greek sound. As a production team, C&N Project always hits Top 5 on the Scandinavian Club Charts. When C&N Project got in contact with Elena & Nikos, the idea was born to create a music concept that mix the Greek Mediterranean feeling with a heavy modern Scandinavian dancebeat.

The result; Opa-Opa ("- -") Scandinavian dancemusic - in Greek.
